LEGEND MALIN KUNDANG, PADANG, WEST SUMATRA
Once upon a time there lived a mother with her son. Determined to succeed boy wandered over her blessing. In the city, the boy became a successful merchant by marrying the daughter of a rich merchant. One day, he stopped the ship to the area where the boy was born. On hearing news of her mother coming home to the coast. But he did not want to admit the poor and elderly woman was his mother. The mother cried and prayed that God give her just reward at. A moment later a big storm came and destroyed the ship of the boy, the boy realized he had hurt her, but it was too late, he and all the people who were on the ship turned to stone.
This is the story of Malin Kundang. Legend of a rebellious child to his mother. This legend teaches that children devoted to his parents, especially his mother. However, although considered a legend, stones Malin Kundang ship that turned to stone you can see directly on the Aia Manih beach, Padang.

PANDAI SIKEK, WEST SUMATRA, INDONESIA
Pandai Sikek is one of the villages that belong to the districts Sepuluh Koto, Tanah Datar, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia. This is located near Batusanggkar, the capital city of Tanah Datar regency. In this area there is a weaving craft called "Tenun Songket Pandai Sikek". Pandai sikek woven products such as destar, baju kuruang, kodek songket, sarung balapak, sarung batabua, selendang songket or selendang batabua tingkulak tanduak (cover woman's head) and sesamping (equipment penghulu_head of the customs).
Songket for Minang society is a very high value garments. Therefore the use is limited to events or activities such as: marriage, batagak gala (coronation of penghulu), and welcome important guests.

TABUIK PARTY IN PARIAMAN, WEST SUMATRA, INDONESIA

SALA LAUAK PARIAMAN
Sala lauak / sala lauk / sala bulek a traditional food of Pariaman and the surrounding area
(food is also typical of coastal areas in the district of Padang Pariaman).
Sala is a Minang language which means fried. 're Lauak means fish. What's sala
lauak with fried fish? Eits, be careful! Of course not, because that would be
given not sala lauak again but the fish is fried. Then sala lauak was like
what?
Sala lauak is Pimpong fried balls of saffron yellow. Composed of rice flour, chillies, turmeric, onions, salt, and salted fish. Salty fish flavor contained in seasoned flour clumps that makes 'sala' was named Sala Lauak.

GANDORIAH BEACH, PARIAMAN, INDONESIA
